We are seeking an account manager at our office either in Cologne, Germany or Cambridge, UK to join our global team of commercial account managers. Reporting to the Vice President, you will be responsible for developing and increasing sales of CCG’s software within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry throughout Europe. The customer base includes PhD. level scientists, departmental managers and opinion leaders in the industry. This is a unique opportunity to join an industry leader with expanding business and work closely with prominent researchers.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop sales strategies to manage and grow existing accounts
  • Increase new business across Europe by prospecting, creating and closing opportunities in traditional and new market segments
  • Organize customer sales and technical visits, onsite training sessions for the purpose of increasing MOE usage and helping our customers understand CCG products
  • Manage customer technical support queries and tickets to ensure customer satisfaction and account growth
  • Provide recommendations to CCG sales and marketing teams that will have a positive impact on sales
  • Build and maintain long term positive customer relationships with research and development scientists and managers
  • Travel to conferences, customer sites and sales meetings

Qualifications
  • BSc. or advanced degree in Chemistry or life sciences
  • ~ 5 years solid track record of growing sales and strategic account management
  • Ability to travel within Europe
  • Direct commercial software sales experience or familiarity with enterprise wide software deployment a plus

In this full-time position based in our downtown office in Montreal, Canada, you will take responsibility for key areas of development, seeing projects through from conception to release. You will have opportunities to deepen or acquire expertise across the domains of computational and medicinal chemistry and biologics, develop fluency in SVL, the scientific vector language, as well as prepare scientific talks and present them at conferences, and interact with clients.

Your Role
  • Research, develop, and optimize new approaches to computer-assisted drug discovery
  • Design, implement, test, validate and maintain applications and extensions to CCG products
  • Write specifications and technical documentation
  • Create and give scientific or technical presentations
  • Interact with customers at meetings and conferences in North America and overseas

Your Expertise
  • Exceptional programming skills
  • Experienced in methods and complex algorithmic development, implementation, and validation
  • Experienced in GUI design, cross-platform techniques, numerical analysis, and optimization
  • Familiarity with domains relevant to computational chemistry and molecular modeling, such as cheminformatics, protein and antibody modeling, bioinformatics, biologics, molecular dynamics, and forcefield development
  • Familiarity with molecular modeling software (computational and GUI)

Your Work Experience and Training
  • Three or more years industrial or post-doc experience or equivalent in scientific programming, computational modeling, or applied mathematics
  • Commercial experience in a software development team on a large code base is an asset
  • MSc/PhD or equivalent in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, or Structural Biology, with a strong programming background
